    Remarks:
    Whereas: the ability for an institution to set its own tuition is paramount in today's climate of diminshing state funding for higher education; and
    Whereas: tuition flexibility is important in order for institutions to assess their own needs, maintain their excellence, and improve their programs; and
    Whereas: UT Arlington is also committed to maintaining educational accessibility for students and their families from any socio-economic background.
    Be It Therefore Resolved That: the UT Arlington Student Congress supports and recognizes the need for individual institutions to have flexibility in determining and setting tuition rates and fees in a transparent and accountable manner that includes input from students and also recognizes the need for increased state and federal need-based financial aid.
