Dear President:
It is time to think about awards-for both student organizations* and advisors!
The 2007-2008 Outstanding Student Organization Award(s):
These awards recognize those organizations which have shown excellence in serving their members, the University and/or the community. It includes a plaque and $350.00 to each category group winner. (Categories were chosen based on the number of organizations in each category. However, each application will be considered on its merits and the unique qualities of its category. All organizations will be considered for the overall award.) A monetary award of $500.00 will be given to the overall winner.
The categories are:
Professional/Honorary/Service International/Cultural
Special Interest/Recreational/Political/Religious Overall
The 2007-2008 Outstanding Faculty or Staff Student Organization Advisor Award:
It is also our goal to recognize outstanding service by advisors to their organizations. Along with the Outstanding Student Organization Award(s), this award will be presented at a Spring Awards Ceremony and will include a cash remuneration of $750.00 and a plaque.
Applications for your organization’s category (Outstanding Student Organization Award) and the nomination forms for the Outstanding Faculty or Staff Student Organization Advisor Award will be available in our office. Also, they can be downloaded from the Student Governance website at www.uta.edu/studentgovernance
Applications for the Outstanding Student Organization Award(s) are due Friday March 28, 2008 to our office. Nomination forms for the Outstanding Faculty or Staff Student Organization Advisor Award are also due Friday March 28, 2008.
All applications and nomination forms may be returned in person to our office (Lower Level, University Center), by mail (Student Governance & Organizations, Box 19350, Arlington, TX 76019-0350), or by fax (817-272-7352).
