About PACS

The presence of Iranian students at UT, Arlington is attributed to a long time ago. In 2000 PACS (Persian Academic and Cultural Society) was constituted by Iranian students at Arlington. Essentially, PACS is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious organization established for all people interested in Iran. The purpose of this organization is to sponsor Persian culture, social, academic events, activities, and to promote an awareness of the rich Iranian culture. In order to accomplish this aim a non-profit student organization was prepared by Iranian students and professors, and was approved by the UT, Arlington’s authorities. Up to now various academic and national ceremonies has been held by PACS for Iranian students in a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Welcoming events, Yalda night, Hafez night, Nowrouz show, International Fair show, and occasional parties for students are just some few samples of these ceremonies. The Membership is open to all students, faculty, alumni, and staff attending the University of Texas at Arlington.
