The Zeta Mu Chapter of ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA was founded at the University of Texas at Arlington on March 8, 1969 and was chartered in April 1971. Since then 44 lines have been initiated into ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA through the Zeta Mu Chapter. The Zeta Mu Chapter is proud of its tradition of excellence. Including such honors as UTA's first African-American Homecoming Queen, UTA's first African-American female Student Body President, as well as Miss UTA. The Zeta Mu Chapter is proud to recognize that there were only 3 black Greeks on UTA's campus to be initiated into the Golden Key National Honor Society three consecutive years, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Zeta Mu Sorors, current as well as previous, have been involved in Who's Who, Student Congress, UTA Recruitment efforts, Homecoming Court and Alpha Kappa Alpha Leadership Fellow.
