The Origins of The Olympus Mons Title

After finally deciding to start an astronomy organization, we ran into the problem of naming our brainchild. Sorting through several cheesy suggestions, our historian, Brian Watkins, struck the right chord. His infatuation with the music of Frank Black led him to the suggestion of Olympus Mons, from the totally cool song,Bird Dream of the Olympus Mons. The club would like thank him for his efforts and for saving the club from mediocrity. Otherwise, the club might have been called the Arlington Astronomy Club or The North Texas Astronomers at UTA. Oh, I suppose that we could make our advisor happy and say that we named it after that mondo hill on Mars. :) Hey, Frank! Check out thepics!
