The purpose of the Biomedical Engineering
Society is to bring knowledge to its members concerning the advancement of
biomedical research and technology in the medical field. The Biomedical
Engineering Society shall also exist as a forum for discussion among the UTA
and UTSW community who would like share
ideas or opinions. Meetings shall promote interests through activities such as
lectures, presentations, tours, and social activities.
The student Society (BMES)
seeks to bring together students with a common interest. We seek to help them
become better bioengineers, get in touch with local companies, further develop
and expand their interests. Our Society
will promote the profession of biomedical engineering through the organized
effort in study, research, and discussion of the fields of biomedical
engineering and the dissemination of knowledge thereby gained. The Society will also: a) promote student
research awareness, b) identify job opportunities and options, c) aid fellow students
in technical elective selection and d)
promote student/faculty interaction. We will create help, networking, and knowledge of The
Biomedical field. We will give each member their worth, and
give them all the information they could possibly need, which helps in getting
into a Biomedical, Medical, Laboratory, Engineering, or even any type of
science career
