What is the Knighthood?

First, an introduction:
|
The
Knighthood of BUH is a nationally recognized non profit
humor-oriented organization that finds unique and
exceptional people, and lets them do the crazy and
unorthodox things that they would never get to do otherwise.
We are a collection of individuals that provide the
opportunity for people to break social norms as well as
lighten up a world that seems to have a habit of taking
itself a little too seriously.

What Is Our Purpose?
|
The purpose of our activities is simply
to amuse both the world and ourselves, as well as make
people think outside of the box, or "la caja," by breaking
social norms. We are often asked "What are you trying to
say?" We are saying nothing. We are simply practicing comedy
in its purest form. Unfortunately, in our commercial world,
humor appears almost exclusively as sugar coating for the
propaganda an interest group of some sort wants you to
swallow. Although some people will always find "messages" in
whatever we do, we will continue to avoid these
misinterpretations.
Among its members, however, the
Knighthood is about more than just comedy. It is about being
an individual, and thinking for yourself. A lot of the time,
it is easier to feel the way a movie wants us to, or to
think all the things our frat brothers do than it is to
generate our own emotions. It seems the world is a place for
being the guy next to you. The Knighthood is about being
you, about thinking for yourself, and about believing what
you have decided is believable, not simply what your parents
or your pastor told you. It is about creativity, but not
creativity as your third grade teacher meant it, which is to
say bright colors and lots of glitter, but creativity in the
true and not-so-easy-to-have sense of the word - divergent
thinking.

What does BUH Mean?
|
The
first thing you should know is the pronunciation of the
aforementioned word. It is pronounced "BUH," like book, but
without the k, and not like butt without the double
t. The pronunciation is onomatopoeia for the sound of a fist
hitting flesh. Try it out yourself! Punch yourself in the
chest right now, and listen to the noise it makes! "BUH!"
BUH is much more than onomatopoeia, however. "BUH" has come
to stand for anything that is violently funny, or just cool
in an unorthodox way.

Who Is Behind All This?
|
While most of our activities are the results of the efforts
of the group as a whole with no individual credits or
praises, if you are really looking to point some fingers,
our
officers page is a good place to start. They can
also answer any questions you might have about their
particular departments.

What does the Knighthood of BUH DO?
|
- Live Events - Brainstorm, organize
and host live public events to entertain, enlighten, and
confuse.
- Media Productions - Produce comedy
through various media outlets without the commercial or
propaganda-based purposes or undertones.

The Bastard Squad! -An award-winning,
quick-paced television series consisting of sketch
comedy that defies traditional genres.

Immortal Human Skin Cells -A branch of the
Knighthood recording funny music and audio sketch comedy
of a more intellectual nature than The Bastard Squad!

Stovepipe Interactive -A branch of the
Knighthood focusing on interactive humor, such as
interactive web sites, flash animations, games, and
more.

Piggy Lovin' -An online humor magazine
focusing on silly editorials, monologues, essays, and
still photography.
Much more - Everything from making
shirts and buttons to throwing parties and holding social
events.
