Bylaws:
|
- Bylaw 1 Membership:
- Types of members
- Regular members may be any student staff or
faculty at UT
- Knighted members are those who have applied and
were approved based on qualifications clearly outlined
below.
- Knighted members may apply for their Second
Knighthood based on the same criterion.
- Qualifications for advancement -
- Applications will be taken and evaluated by all
knighted or twice knighted members. 3/4 must approve
and all members who fail to respond within 2 weeks
will be considered to be in opposition.
- Acceptance will be based on individuality,
creativity, freedom of thought, philosophical
intelligence, and unorthodox style.
- Bylaw 2 Dues:
- There will be no such thing.
- Bylaw 3 Officers:
- Powers and Duties of appointed officers
- Any or all members may be officers of various self
appointed powers and duties that do not step on the
rules the organization must follow.
- The President of the Organization is in charge of
any major decisions to be made on behalf of the
organization, but may not order around other members.
- All officers are appointed, and may even be
self-appointed.
- Appointing a new president -
- Hopefully, a president, as well as all currently
leaving officers may appoint replacements.
- If an officer blows up or otherwise cannot make an
appointment, the knighted member with the most
senority will make the appointment.
- Bylaw 4 A Non-Commital Group:
- What members may elect to do
- Members mey elect to join in any planned event of
the organization as long as they do so productively.
- In order to apply for advancement within the
Knighthood of BUH, a member must complete a
self-chosen task that shows the reviewers his or her
talents, individuality, and freedom of thought.
- All tasks must be approved by officers and
knighted members in order to avoid anything
resembeling hazing.
- What members may not be forced to do
- Members will not be forced to do anything. They
will participate only in those activities they choose.
- If a member is not having fun, he or she is doing
something wrong. That's the whole point.

Constitution:

- Article 1 Name of Organization:
- Article 2 Statement of Purpose:
- To give people the chance to think freely and on
one's own, enjoy life to the fullest, stop taking the
world so seriously, and have fun with others who have
similar intentions.
- Article 3 Membership:
- Absolutely any student, faculty, or staff of the
University of Texas at Austin may join the Knighthood of
BUH.
- Membership is limited to students, faculty, and
staff of the University of Texas at Austin.
- Article 4 Officers:
- All members my appoint themselves to any imaginable
unfilled office apart from president, and replacements
for officers will be appointed by the incumbant or by a
knighted member in a position of seniority.
- All oficers will have to perform only those duties
they elect to perform.
- No officer will have athority over any other member.
- Article 5 Meetings:
- Meetings will be called whenever necessary, but will
not be mandatory.
- Regular meetings may be scheduled if a want for them
arises.
- Contact is to be maintained via an e-mail mailing
list sent out to all members and other interested
parties, as well as through the web page.
- Article 6 Method to Amend the Constitution:
- All amendments are to be made by the president.
- At no time will any officer be given power over any
other member, and no member shal be required to perform
any activities.
- Article 7 Dissolution Clause:
- Should the organization be dissolved, all funds will
be given to local charities.
