The UTA chapter of the Knighthood
of BUH was created during the Fall Semester of 2002 in an
attempt to provide a little comic relief to an uptight campus.
The following is a history of events held by the knighthood. |

First
newspaper article in the Shorthorn. This article
basically describes who we are and what we do. It helped
to bring a little attention to us before we held our first
event. |

The first event
held by the UTA chapter of the Knighthood of BUH was the brick
and spoon promotion. We managed to give out 62 bricks and
spoons. This event didn't really have a point other than
to entertain people. We just gave bricks and spoons to
those passersby willing to accept them.

The theme of our
Kludzüken was "The Great Depression." For those who don't
know, a Kludzüken is a party held by a new chapter in which all
other chapters are invited to attend. The party also
contains some comedic theme.

Seeing that we have no dues we
decided that we would raise a few bucks by having a fundraiser.
We had to devise some theme for the fundraise that ensure we
made money yet would still reveal something of the nature of our
organization. We finally agreed upon the "Special" Brownie
Sale in which we would give people the impression that the
brownies contained marijuana. We also sold bags of oregano
as marijuana. We were sort of hoping to get arrested or at
least questioned by the UTAPD but nothing really happened.
We ended up making a few bucks which were spent on hot dogs for
the Kick-a-Dog Day.

The last event of our first
semester as an organization was Kick-a-Dog Day. The
biggest part of this event was the promotion. We handed
out lots of fliers, posted several 1 page fliers and 3 large
banners around campus. The idea was to get people angry
and draw attention to our organization. The event went
over quite well. We ended up making our first enemy, PAWS
and there's bound to be more in the future. This was our
first
newspaper article reviewing an actual event.

For the UTA student activities we
decided to pose our organization as the UTA Masturbation Team.
Even though the event was thrown together at the last minute it
went over quite well. We were attempting to get people to
sign up to try out for the team. Some people didn't get
that it was a joke and looked at us like we were sick, a couple
of people didn't get it and were very eager to sign up however.
We managed to offend, disgust or amuse everyone who walked by.
We took several pictures before the event of us during a
competition including one with us in front of the "team van"
with our pants around our ankles. However, we didn't have
enough time to print them out for the event.

The Chinese Fortune Condom event
went ok. The biggest problem with it was the work it took
to stuff a condom with a fortune, inflate, and tie up. We
were too busy to actually enjoy the event like we should have.
Another problem is that the condoms we used broke very easily
when the serrated edge of the condom wrapper inside hit it just
right. However, people walking by still seemed to enjoy
the event and it gave us some public exposure.

2/12-14/03 |
For Valentine's Day we took U.T.
Austin's idea for insulting Valentines and expanded it. We
came up with many new cards, for a total of 22 different
Valentines. The cover of the cards of course gave the
impression of a polite gesture. We received numerous
responses along the lines of "Aww, that's so sweet."
Then as we walked away they would open it up and shout "Aww,
that's so mean." I think the guys, in general, liked
getting the Valentines from the chicks. But the female
response to them was not always so positive. After handing
them out to the UTA cheerleaders, one cheerleader replied by
saying, "Why are you being so creepy?" All in all it was a
great event, most in the Knighthood agreed that it was the best
Valentine's Day ever.
