A: Check the MavCycle
list or web page for ride times, and show up.
Q: What is the purpose of the MavCycle list?
A: The MavCycle
List is the official e-mail list and communication forum for the club. We will
use it to discuss official club information, such as meeting notes, ride times,
and race schedules. It can also be used by the club members to discuss bike
gadgets, new ride times, and car-pooling to races and rides. All that we ask is
that you keep your messages on cycling related issues and save personal info
(dirty jokes, dates, etc.) between personal e-mail.
Q: How does the MavCycle list work?
A: Anyone, including people not on the list,
can e-mail the club at utacycling@gmail.com.
The message then gets distributed to everyone that is included in the list.
Q: How do I join the MavCycle list?
A: To join the MavCycle
list simply send an e-mail to utacycling@gmail.com and for the body of the
text type "subscribe mavcycle {your name}"
without the quotation marks and brackets. An e-mail will be sent to you with futher directions on how to complete your subscription.
Q: I missed a message on the MavCycle list, is there an archive of messages?
A: Yes there is an archive of the messages
sent to the MavCycle list. The archive is located at http://www.uta.edu/student_orgs/cycling/email/email-archive.html
A: Any full time student is able to
represent UTA at races. You will need to purchase a license from NORBA for
mountain races and USCF
for road races. Licenses are usually available at races or on-line through USA cycling. College
rules require a team jersey or a plain jersey. A UTA team jersey is available, you will need to purchase it to represent the
school.
