The name of this organization shall be the Education Constituency Council (ECC).

The purpose of this organization is to serve as the highest level of student government within the School of Education. This shall include serving as a representative body or the views of students of the School of Education as a whole. The ECC shall also serve as an advisory board to the administration and faculty of the School of Education to establish appropriate communication among these groups. This shall include recruiting and nominating students to serve on School Committees and special projects to be appointed at the discretion of the Dean. The executive Board of the CC shall also appoint student representatives to the various university committees administered through the Student Congress.

The executive board of the CC shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Student Affairs Advisor and Faculty Advisor.
Section A: All officers shall hold a term of one year. They shall be elected on the second to last meeting of the school year and take office on the last meeting of the year. They will hold office until the following election.
Section B: The President's duties shall include preparing meeting agendas, chairing the meetings, assigning committee appointments, motivating council and facilitating ideas, attending PSAC and SFOC meetings, checking up on the status of projects, communicating with fellow officers and advisors and to prepare and submit the End-of-the-Year Report to the University Advisor. A majority vote of the members present is required to elect the president.
Section C: The Vice-President's duties shall include coordinating the program and committee chairs, acting as parliamentarian, performing presidential duties if needed, keeping the calendar and at least one University Committee attendance. A majority vote of members present is required to elect the vice president.
Section D: The Secretary's duties shall include recording minutes and retaining them for records, tracking attendance and voting, organizing and updating files, misc. correspondence, assistance in editing the newsletter, checking the ECC mailbox weekly, at least one University Committee Attendance.
Section E: The Treasurer's duties shall include recording minutes and retaining Balance Ledger, planning, preparing and presenting the ECC Budget proposal to Student Congress, primary contact and runner for ECC purchasing, and at least one University Committee attendance.
Section F: The Public Relations officer's duties shall include publicizing all ECC events and meetings, boosting membership, publicizing the council to create awareness, and at least one University Committee attendance (note: this office may include more than one member) A majority vote of members present is required to elect the Public Relations Officer.
Section G: Both the Student Affairs Advisor and the Faculty Advisor shall attend all meetings and advise the council on all matters according to their best judgment as advisors. Thes advisors will be selected from the Office for Student Governance and from the School of Education faculty and staff according to the practices within each office.
Section H: Each member of the Executive board is responsible for carrying out duties listed in Sections A-G upon election and throughout their terms as officers and advisors. Each member of the executive board is also responsible for any duties demanded by the ECC as may arise throughout their term. Removal from office shall be determined by a careful consideration by the remaining ECC executive board and both advisors along with a majority vote of the remaining board.
Meetings shall be held on the dates specified buy the executive board. The President of ECC may call special meetings for pressing issues that cannot wait until the next regularly scheduled meeting. He/She must notify members at least twenty-four hours in advance. Robert's Rules of Order shall be the official rules of procedure.
This Constitution may be amended by introducing proposed amendments at least one regularly scheduled meeting prior to voting. Upon a majority vote of approval and approval by Student Congress, the amendment will become part of this Constitution.
