Check out this small presentation that explains just how versatile a term "developer" really is! Producing a game takes all kinds of specialties and talents.
Once you become a registered member in our official forums, grab one of these fun signature "badges" to declare your job as a game developer! Click 'Read More' to check 'em out...
Whether you're making loading screens, 3D textures, or sprites, you are responsible for what people see when they play the game!
It's your job to keep things moving in the game - this isn't a photograph!
Let the creativity flow as you lay out levels, outline goals, and help the project fulfill your dreams!
What game is a game without some sound effects, music, or narration?
You are the noble grunt, cranking out code, compiling, and laying the groundwork for the artsy types!
Not everyone can read code - sometimes, we really need a wordsmith to spell things out for us!
If programmers are the construction workers, software engineers are the architects, creating diagrams, optimizing algorithms, and often responsible for testing and debugging. Oh darn, testing a game!
For those of you that do a little bit of everything - feel free to give yourself a pat on the back and call yourself a General Developer. |
