IISE is the leading professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession. The Student Chapter at UT Arlington serves to pursue the mission and vision of IISE in the UT Arlington community and Dallas/ Fort Worth Area. Under student leadership and supported by a faculty advisor, the IISE UTA chapter brings together students, professionals, faculty and corporate recruiters by facilitating events and initiatives that are designed to enhance the academic experience of industrial engineering students at UT Arlington.
Our office is on the fourth floor of Woolf Hall, Rm 420S. It is also known as Six Sigma Lounge. Everyone is welcomed to come by to take a load off of their weary legs and chat it up with this year’s IIE officers. You can also save some time and gas money by buying your lunch here. We maintain a constant supply of pizzas, burritos, ramen, chips, and other snacks.
As a student chapter here at UTA, we strive to serve our student body in multiple ways. One of our main activities is our monthly General Body Meeting, which takes place on the third Wednesday of every month. We also organize factory tours through out the semester to provide students with insights about the job as well as environment that professional engineers work in. Each semester, IISE at UTA collaborate with the IISE Tranining Center to bring about the Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt Trainings, which equip students for their future career. Besides, IISE UTA also have our social activities such as game night, basketball game, or social gather to help students and officers mingle and have fun
