Some History

The Latin American Student Organzation was brought to the University in the late 90's by a group of Latinos that expressed an interest to join all Latino's together on campus no matter if they were from north, central, south, or the Caribbean Islands. L.A.S.O then died out for a while and was brought back to UTA in the fall of 2003 by a group of Latinos including Walter Menjivar, due to the need for Latino students to support one another socially.
