December 11, 2008
Dear Fellow Psychology Students,
The University of Texas at Arlington Psi Chi will be hosting our sixth annual Psychology Convention on Saturday, February 23, 2008. We invite students to attend and to present their research in a supportive learning environment and gain recognition for their work. Student attendees will also have the opportunity to meet peers and faculty from a variety of psychology programs in the North Texas area. The event will also feature a three part series talk on trauma.
Those presenting papers and posters should submit an abstract to the convention committee using the online form or by mailing the form enclosed by Feb. 10th. All students are encouraged to attend regardless of whether they have a paper or poster to present. This year, there will be no registration fee, but all presenters must pre-register. All other attendees are also asked to pre-register to help us estimate attendance.
The two key note addresses will be from Dr. Dougall and Dr. Baum. They are both currently professors in health psychology at the University of Texas at Arlington. Their research focuses on the effects of stress and traumatic events.
Please visit our website at www.uta.edu/student_orgs/psichi to register online or complete the attached form. We hope that this event will be both fun and educational for all involved.
Thank you,
Julia Paeglis
President,
