JOB TITLE:               GIS Research Analyst

LOCATION:                Corporate Office – Irving, Texas

HIRING MANAGER:     Doug Prickett, Director Research, Real Estate Asset Management

SUMMARY:  Individual filling position will be responsible for serving the firms spatial needs with an analytical approach deployed through GIS technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Primary Duties

·         Create, maintain, recommend, and integrate a variety of spatial resources (including software and data) for use in our GIS platform.

·         Utilize, maintain, and develop templates for internal reports and maps. Internet research to identify location detail of properties, retailers, etc.

·         Enhance current spatial initiatives and develop new ones with client involvement

Required Skills

·         Firm understanding of geographic fundamentals and spatially-oriented data.

·         Highly organized with attention to detail. Strong resource management skills.

·         Strategic thinking for short and long-term platform goals.

·         Effective written and oral communication skills.

·         Software skills: Over 2 years in MapInfo Professional, MapMarker Plus, SRC Allocate as well as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Database program experience also helpful.

Preferred Skills

·         Creative, yet analytical approach to spatial research in commercial real estate applications.

·         Real estate experience in retail, office, apartment or hotel a plus.

·         Self-motivating, can work with a high degree of autonomy.

·         Strong relationship management (interpersonal) skills.

·         Software skills: EarthViewer Pro, NRB Shopping Center Database.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

BA/BS. Preferred majors: GIS, geography, economics, urban studies, business, and real estate; all majors considered. Experience in commercial real estate and/or market research helpful.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to comprehend and communicate market data is important. Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work effectively in team important. Must have a customer-service orientation and be flexible in a dynamic environment. Must enjoy the art of discovery and researching the dynamics of real estate market behavior.
