The Social Work Constituency Council, or SWCC, is one of nine Constituency Councils on the UTA Campus. It is for all undergraduate and graduate School for Social Work Students.
The Social Work Constituency Council main purposes:
- represent social work students in the larger UTA university community
- provide social work students with educational programs, and relevant services and information, on a regular basis
- advocate for the students through its programs, publications, and policy work
The Council enables students to become more involved with a diverse community and involved with other organizations within the UTA community. The SWCC encourages all students to become involved with any organization at the school of social work. The Council is your pathway to becoming empowered. The SWCC office is currently located in the Social Work student lounge in building-B.

How do I get involved?
The meetings are one of the best activities of the SWCC and we urge you to make as many meetings as you can. Remember to bring your lunch!) However, we also provide other ways for you to be a part of the SWCC:
Call us with any questions, problems, or suggestions regarding our social work programs and what we can do for you. We work closely with the School of Social Work Dean, faculty, and administrative staff. We are here to be your liaison.
Join our UTA School of Social Work list serve! This is a service in which both faculty and students can have an ongoing forum through email about current topics of interest within the School.
Come to our special events and celebrations!
Join us in raising money, canned food, etc. for worthy social and community causes.
Join a University Committee. It's great experience and looks fabulous on your resume! Most Committees meet one to two times per year.
