The Spring Social, May 8, 2009 at Paul Rutschmann’s House, co-hosted with Phi Alpha Theta, was a well-attended and a success.

 

THSO’s Second Annual Dissertation/Prospectus Workshop was a success.

 

Fall 2008

 

THSO in the Time Traveler, the history department’s newsletter:

 

 

The Fall THSO Bake Sale made some good money – thanks to all who volunteered their time and/or brought us saleables.

 

November and December, 2008 – THSO’s workshop with Dr. Cawthon on CVs was well-attended and informative, thank you Dr. Cawthon – the Fall social, co-hosted with Phi Alpha Theta, was held at Dr. Adam’s house and everyone had an enjoyable time until rather late.

 

October 23, 2008 – THSO’s Ninth Annual Graduate Student Symposium, “Slavery in the Transatlantic World,” was a great success, with four very fine student presentations, brilliant commentating by Drs. Morris and Haynes, and a funny, informative keynote address by Dr. Trevor Burnard.

 

October 1-2, 2008 – THSO’s bake sale made some good money – thanks to all who volunteered their time and/or brought us saleables.

 

September 24, 2008 – Dr. Adam’s presentation on H-NET was well-attended and very informative – several students were very intrigued.

 

September 15-16, 2008 – Our book sale with Phi Alpha Theta went very well, we earned over $900 combined!
