Students can apply to SUPA for scholarships intended for city and regional planning, urban studies, public service, public administration and more.

Edward S. Overman Urban Scholarship
The Edward S. Overman Urban Scholarship was established by the alumni and faculty of the school in honor of SUPA’s founding director and is designed to support students in all degree programs. The scholarship provides assistance to talented students who otherwise might not be able to pursue graduate education and is awarded on the basis of merit and need.
R.L. “Jerry” Mebus Public Service Scholarship
The R.L. “Jerry” Mebus Public Service Scholarship provides financial assistance for students interested in pursuing careers in public service. Both Doctoral and Master’s level students are eligible. The scholarship is funded from an endowment by the family of R.L. Mebus, a former Arlington City Councilman and Tarrant County Commissioner.
George C. Campbell Endowed Scholarship
Applicants for George C. Campbell Endowed Scholarship should have a commitment to public administration. The scholarship, established for students at the Master’s level, gives preference to those seeking careers in city management. The scholarship was established in honor of former Arlington City Manager and SUPA alumnus George C. Campbell.
John Jackson Scholarship
The John W. Jackson, Jr. Endowed Scholarship was established by the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association (TxA-PA) in memory of John Jackson who received his Masters of City and Regional Planning degree from SUPA in 1981. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and was very active with the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association. The scholarship was established to provide assistance to graduate students enrolled in the urban and public affairs program at UT Arlington.
Jerry and David Tees Scholarship
The Jerry and David Tees scholarship provides financial assistance for students pursuing master’s level work on a full time basis. Applicants must have completed one semester. The scholarship was established by SUPA Director of Training and Services David Tees and his wife, Jerry.
Delbert A. Taebel Scholarship
The Delbert Taebel Distance Education Scholarship was established in honor of SUPA Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Del Taebel, following his retirement. The scholarship provides assistance to students enrolled in the Masters of Public Administration on-line program.
Paul Geisel Scholarship
The Paul Geisel Scholarship was established in honor of Professor Emeritus Paul Geisel who was a founding faculty of the School of Urban and Public Affairs. This scholarship will assist deserving and needy students who want to pursue their educational career with the School.
