Working collaboratively with clients throughout Texas, the Institute of Urban Studies has become the state’s go-to University program for smart solutions to tough urban challenges like economic development and master planning.

Since 1967, the Institute has strengthened local economies and enhanced community planning for Texas cities, governments and public agencies by providing customized planning and management services.

Graduate students at the School of Urban and Public Affairs have the opportunity to gain hands-on field experience in project design and planning, data gathering and analysis, small group facilitation, and report preparation and presentation at the Institute.
