Ecofest Event - 2014 - The kickoff is at 10 a.m. and the fun will continue until 10 pm on September 20,2014.

Location:  Founders Plaza, Downtown Arlington

The day will be filled with entertainment from local musical talents performing at the Levitt Pavilion. There will be classes on do-it-yourself projects to reduce consumption of natural resources as well as discussions to enlighten North Texans on different environmental issues and what we can do to help reduce, repair and prevent these problems in the future. Demonstrations will be given throughout the day by vendors and others like the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center. There will be fun, games and educational classes for the children to enjoy during this time and food and drinks will be available as well .

Run For The Environment

Cedar Hill State Park

The Memnosyne Institute presents Run for the Environment benefitting GreenSourceDFW.org.  5K Run/Walk, Green Vendors, Live Music, and Dog Friendly.  Every runner received a free tree courtesy of Preservation Tree and Texas Trees Foundation.

Lunch & Learn Green Office Program/Ride Share Program

Carlisle Suite, University Center

Come to a lunch and learn session Wednesday October 22 from 11:30 to 1:00 in the Carlisle Suite in the University Center and learn about the new Maverick Green Office Program (formerly Maverick Office Green Team) and a new Ride Share Program.  The Office of Sustainability and the Administration and Outreach Work Group have revamped a new Maverick Green Office program.  A new online application has been developed and a Platinum level has been added. 

 Also, come hear about a Ride Share Program that is being offered to the UTA Community.  Fred Turner from VRide discusses the benefits of participating in a Ride Share Program.

 Light snacks will be available or bring your lunch and hear about the new Maverick Green Office Program and the Ride Share Program.  If you plan on attending, please RSVP by October 17 to becky @uta.edu.  Also when RSVPing, please include your home zip code.  This will give Fred Turner some information he can use to show how the Ride Share Program works.
