ecoReps
Do you care about the environment?
Do you live on campus?
Are you looking for exciting and meaningful leadership opportunities?
If so, you could be eligible to become an ecoRep!
EcoReps, a new program at UT Arlington, is a network of environmentally inclined students. Each "Rep" is the environmental leader for his or her residence hall, promoting recycling, composting, energy conservation, and learning about additional ways to make going green easier and more fun for students living on campus.
Similar ecoRep programs exist at many universities and colleges throughout the country and are successful models for promoting sustainable behavior and environmental awareness. Being an ecoRep at UT Arlington is a great leadership opportunity, plus is an easy and fun way to build communication skills plus event management and planning experience.
Making a difference
EcoReps make living in campus residence halls not only more green, but also more fun and interesting by planning events like:
- green movie screenings
- organic Iron Chefs
- green speed-dating
- residence hall gardens
- make your own t-shirts
- lights-off events
- share your bikes/cars
- and implementing your own ideas
