Jerry W. Crowder, Ph.D., P.E.

Director

Jerry W. Crowder is a Consulting Engineer with Crowder Environmental Associates, Inc., and serves as Director of the Air Pollution Training Academy.  In addition, he is Director of the Method 303 Certification Program for coke oven inspectors.  Jerry holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering, a Ph.D. in environmental engineering and is a registered professional engineer.  Past experience includes Associate Professor of Air Resources Engineering at The University of Texas at Dallas, Assistant Director of the Knox County Department of Air Pollution Control, and Applications Engineer with Carborundum Environmental Systems, Inc. He is the author of several books, training manuals, contributed chapters and journal articles in the field of air pollution control technology.  He has also conducted over three hundred and seventy-five training courses for federal, state and local air pollution agency personnel.  Since 1974, he has served as a consultant on industrial air pollution problems, conducting over one hundred fifty projects for approximately seventy clients.  Jerry may be reached at 972-442-7702 or at jwcrowder@verizon.net.

Lou Rene’s association with the University began in 1987, when she joined the staff of the Environmental Institute for Technology Transfer (EITT) as Administrative Secretary and Assistant to the Director.  When the SWEET Center opened in 1993, she assumed management of the facility and the responsibilities of Training Coordinator for the Air Pollution Training Academy.  Lou Rene may be reached at 817-272-2915 or at lrgarcia@uta.edu.
