Terry Foundation: Helping Students Help ThemselvesTerry Foundation: Helping Students Help Themselves

The Terry Scholarship provides scholarships for Texas residents to support their goals of earning a college degree. The Terry Foundation supports two scholarship programs.  The Traditional Terry Scholarship program is for incoming freshman students.  Through this program, taking into account other scholarships and grants, the Terry Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition, fees, books, and on-campus living expenses. It also provides an additional stipend to support study abroad. The Transfer Terry Scholarship program is for incoming transfer students.  Through this program, the Terry Scholarship covers 65% the full cost of tuition, fees, books, and on-campus living expenses. It also provides an additional stipend to support study abroad.

UTA will review all Traditional Applications and nominate 30 incoming freshman for the Terry Scholarship. From these nominees, the Terry Foundation will award 14 scholarships for the academic year. UTA will review all Transfer Applications and nominate 15 incoming transfer students for the Terry Scholarship. These nominees, will interview with other nominees and about half of the candidates through each panel will be awarded a scholarship for the academic year.  Since the Transfer is done in cohorts, not by specific institution, they number of scholars awarded can fluctuate.
