How to Apply
Completed applications are composed of the following:
- Applications. Students must submit an application to the University of Texas at Arlington for admission, and for the Terry Scholarship Program at UTA by April 23, 2019. The application can be found here. Be sure to save the pdf to your computer, and then edit it. Do not try filling it out through your browser. Please note that if your recommender is from a school district (i.e. ISD email address or similar) our emails asking them for a letter will often end up in their spam due to how those organizations filter email. You may wish to ask them to check their spam folders. Note: The Terry Foundation does not accept applications directly from students; applications must go through the University application process.
- Complete the required essay. The essay prompt can be found here. Please make sure you have typed the essay, it is at the end of the Terry Application packet; handwritten essays will not be considered.
- Official transcripts of all college work. The Selection Committee will access your transcripts that you submitted to the Admissions Office. You will not need to upload any transcripts with your application. For information on how to submit a transcript to the Office of Admissions, please visit http://www.uta.edu/admissions/frequent-questions.php
Interview with the Foundation
Terry Scholarships are not awarded without a satisfactory interview. If you are invited to interview for the scholarship, the Foundation will reimburse expenses for candidates traveling from greater than 60 miles from the interview site. Final selections will be made in the week following the interviews, with new Scholars being notified within the month.
Transfer Terry Scholars are not required to live on campus.
