How To Apply

  1. Submit the Application

     Apply now through ApplyTexas

  2. Pay the Application Fee

     If you did not submit your application fee at the time of submitting your admissions application, you can pay it online. All documents and fees must be provided so we can provide you with an admission decision. The Office of Admissions provides opportunities for transfer students to receive application fee waivers.   3. Submit Official Transcripts

     You need to submit your official transcripts once the institution(s) have made them available. Official transcripts must be submitted from all institutions you have attended. The fastest method is electronically--sent directly from your school. If you are asked for an email address, use utaadmissions@uta.edu. However, we will accept transcripts by mail or in person.   4. Track Admissions Status

Guaranteed Admission Requirements

Minimum Transferable Credit Hours Minimum Acceptable GPA Additional Requirements
Less than 24 2.25

Must meet first-year admission requirements AND

  • Have at least a 2.25 GPA on all transfer work
  • No developmental coursework when calculating minimum transferable credit hours or GPA
  • Grades of "D" or below do not transfer
  • All credits must be issued by a regionally accredited institution
24 or more 2.25
  • No developmental coursework when calculating minimum transferable credit hours or GPA
  • Grades of "D" or below do not transfer. UTA will not use "grade replacement," "grade forgiveness," grade exclusion," or other amnesties.
  • All credits must be issued by a regionally accredited institution. UTA does not recognize life/or career credit

Application Priority Dates

Fall: February 14
Spring: October 15
Summer: April 1

Although applications are accepted after the priority date, submitting your application and required documents will ensure guaranteed consideration.

Merit-Based Scholarship & Financial Aid Deadlines

Transfer Scholarship (up to $1,000 - $5,000 annually): February 14
Transfer Scholarship ($1,000 annually): July 3

Please note that some deadlines are earlier than application priority dates. You must submit your admissions application, along with all required documents and fees to be considered for these scholarships.
