Q. Why have I been admitted to the Gateway Advantage program?
A. Students who do not meet regular freshman admission requirements might qualify for the Gateway Advantage program. If you would like information about your admission status, please contact an Admissions Counselor in the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment, 817-272-6287 or consult Admissions.

Q. How many credit hours can I take in my first semester at UTA?
A. For your first semester at UTA, you must take 6 semester hours including EDUC 1302. If you meet the Gateway conditions in the Fall semester, you may enroll full-time at UTA in future semesters.

Q. How will this affect my financial aid?
A. Gateway Advantage requires part-time enrollment for the Fall semester and Financial Aid programs may require full-time student enrollment status at UTA. To find out about what Financial Aid you can qualify for as a Gateway student, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Q. Can I live on campus if I am a Gateway student?
A. It is possible to live on campus as a Gateway Advantage student, but you will need to contact the Housing Office to find out what housing options you might qualify for and what special restrictions apply. When you contact housing make sure to tell them that you have been admitted as a Gateway student so you can get the correct information.

Q. Can I join a Maverick Scholars Freshman Interest Group and be in the Gateway Advantage program?
A. There is a Freshman Interest Group (FIG) specifically designed for Gateway students. You can sign-up for this FIG at Freshman Orientation in the summer or online now at www.uta.edu/lc/join.
