Join a FIG

How to Join a Classic or Fusion (not living in KC Hall) Freshmen Interest Group

  1. Apply for admission to UT Arlington
  2. Complete a FIG Application
  3. Activate your UT Arlington NetID at the UT Arlington OIT Self Service Center
  4. You will need to register for an Orientation program. You may attend any available orientation date, but we will have an orientation session specifically for FIG students.
  5. Before you attend New Maverick Orientation, you may need to complete a Math Placement and/or Calculus Readiness Test. To find out if you need to take the MPT and/or CRT test, please visit the placement testing web page.
  6. At the New Maverick Orientation Program, pick up a BLUE Classic FIG class schedule, share this schedule with your advisor and then simply enroll in your classes

How to join a Residential or a Fusion (living in KC Hall) Freshmen Interest Group

  1. Apply for admission to UT Arlington
  2. Complete a FIG Application
  3. Complete a Residence Hall Housing Application and indicate your preference for KC Hall. The application will ask you for your 10-digit Student ID. You can usually find this number on letters that are sent to you from either the Office of Undergraduate Recuitment, or the Office of Admissions, Records, and Registration. If you cannot locate your Student ID number, you may call our office at 817-272-6107 and ask someone to look up your Student ID number.
  4. Sometime in the next two weeks, you will receive your Housing Contract. Complete and return the Housing Contract with the required deposit, within two weeks of the date the contract was mailed to you.
  5. Activate your UT Arlington NetID at the UT Arlington OIT Self Service Center
  6. You will need to register for an Orientation program. You may attend any available orientation date, but we will have an orientation session specifically for FIG students.

  8. At the New Maverick Orientation Program, pick up a PURPLE Residential FIG class schedule, share this schedule with your advisor and then simply enroll in your classes
