New College Park garage adds parking options for faculty, staff, and students
Faculty, staff, and students arriving on the UT Arlington campus for the start of the fall semester Thursday will find a new parking garage and a variety of surface lot parking options. Motorists should avoid construction areas on the east side of campus and build in time to catch free shuttle bus service.
Expect large volumes of traffic along South Cooper Street near West Mitchell and South West streets and along Pecan Street, from UTA Boulevard to Mitchell.

UT Arlington shuttle service runs along three routes every 15 to 20 minutes. Information about campus parking and shuttle routes is available at www.uta.edu/campus-ops/police/parking/.
Making its debut this year is the new College Park garage. Faculty, students, and staff with valid UT Arlington parking decals may park in the north garage at UTA Boulevard and South Center Street in areas marked with blue signs.
· Motorists approaching campus from the west should enter the north garage from UTA Boulevard.
· Motorists arriving from the north may enter via UTA Boulevard or from Center Street on the east side of the garage.
· Motorists approaching campus from South Cooper Street should turn right on West Park Row Drive to navigate the one-way Center Street-Mesquite Street pairing. From Park Row, turn left on Center Street, which becomes Mesquite Street. Turn left onto UTA Boulevard and south on Center Street to enter the garage.
The new garage also will serve Arlington Hall and Brazos Hall residents and First Baptist Church of Arlington, which provided land to make the project possible.
The north garage adds almost 1,100 spaces to the University’s parking inventory and offers a free charging station for electric vehicles, such as the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan LEAF, in the southwest corner of the first level.
Campus police and public safety officers will direct traffic Thursday and Friday.
