Suspect Apprehended in Aggravated Assault/Family Violence Incident
The suspect identified in the crime bulletin issued by the UT Arlington Police Department late yesterday afternoon has been apprehended.
The suspect, who had threatened a woman with a knife in the parking lot of the Continuing Education and Workforce Development building, was arrested by the City of Arlington Police Department yesterday evening shortly after the incident occurred. There is no evidence to suggest that either individual is affiliated with the University.
“Keeping our campus community safe and secure is our top priority,” President James D. Spaniolo says. “Our police department is diligent in patrolling campus, pursuing leads, conducting investigations, and helping educate the campus community on personal safety.”
The UT Arlington Police Department urges members of the campus community to be aware of their surroundings and exercise caution. Suspicious persons or situations should always be reported to the police department at 817-272-3381.
