Biography
Before joining UT Arlington, Timothy served as a reporter and broadcast editor for The Associated Press in Jackson, Miss. In his 13 years with the global news organization, he covered a variety of national news and business stories, including the collapse of telecommunications company WorldCom. He guided the Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters Association, established the MAPBA Hall of Fame in 2004 and served as a weekend news desk supervisor for Mississippi and Louisiana. Timothy also has served as a media and public relations consultant for a manufacturing execution systems company in Mississippi and Tennessee. He is a past member of the Jackson Public School’s Education Foundation Trust Screening Committee. Timothy was born in Jackson and earned his degree in Mass Communications from Jackson State University in 1996. Timothy now lives in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Mission
The mission of the Office of Media Relations at The University of Texas at Arlington is to develop and communicate information regarding the University's academic activities, its community service role, and the achievements of its students, faculty, staff, and alumni to its various internal and external constituencies in order to enhance its position as a comprehensive educational institution.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating news media relations including writing and distributing news releases and photos, contacting the media regarding UT Arlington faculty and staff who can respond as experts to current events, and fielding requests from the media
- Maintaining an Experts Guide for the news media
- Coordinating press conferences
- Giving speeches regarding UT Arlington on and off campus
- Providing stories for UT Arlington Magazine
- Publishing annual, weekly, and specialty calendars of events
