UT Arlington Wind Symphony presents "Reflections"

ARLINGTON -  The University of Texas Arlington Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band present their first concert of the 2008-09 season at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in Irons Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building, 700 Greek Row Drive. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students/seniors. High school band directors may obtain free tickets for themselves and their students by contacting the UT Arlington Band Office at (817) 272-2533. 

The concert, titled "Reflections," features classic works for winds and percussion. The program features some of the most popular composers of the 20th century, including Richard Strauss, Dmitri Shostakovich and Gordon Jacob. 

The Wind Symphony, conducted by UT Arlington Director of Bands Dr. Douglas Stotter, is made up of the most accomplished woodwind, brass and percussion students in the Department of Music. The Wind Symphony presents five concerts during the school year.
