ARLINGTON - The University of Texas at Arlington Percussion program will present its 27th annual fall ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Irons Recital hall at the Fine Arts Building, 700 Greek Row Drive. The ensemble, directed by Dr. Michael Varner, has been nationally recognized for excellence and featured on a series of videos for a number of music companies.
"This year's recital features the most memorable works for percussion that the ensemble has performed from the past 27 years. This recital should be a really unforgettable experience for the listener," Dr. Varner said.
Varner said the recital also will highlight a number of performers who were featured in early November at the Percussive Arts Societies international convention held this year in
Austin. After this recital, which is free and open to the public, the ensemble will tour and perform at a number of high schools in Texas.
