Girl University offers insight into college experience

ARLINGTON - Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains Inc. will present the annual Girl University, a one-day conference for girls in eighth through 12th grade and their parents, from 8:15 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in The University of Texas at Arlington's E.H. Hereford University Center, 300 W. First St.

The conference is designed to help girls get an early start on planning for life after high school and make to good decisions and wise career choices.

Offering more than 40 workshops for girls and parents, Girl University also features exhibit booths with information on college academic programs, financial
aid and community groups.

Girl University is hosted and co-sponsored by UT Arlington and the departments of Upward Bound, Testing Services and Career Services. All girls in grades eighth through 12 are welcome.
