UT Arlington set to host annual Parent and Family Weekend

ARLINGTON - The University of Texas at Arlington's annual Parent and Family Weekend on Oct. 23-24 will feature exhibitions, a festival, campus tours, faculty lectures and dinner with UT Arlington President James D. Spaniolo.

Registration includes meals, activities and admission for UT Arlington students and children less than 10 years old. The registration fee is $25 per person. Parents will have an opportunity to meet university administrators and take part in family activities.


The event will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, with complimentary bowling and billiards in the E.H. Hereford University Center, 300 W. First St. Check-in and a welcome reception will follow at 6 p.m. at the Center's Palo Duro Lounge.


Campus tours and lectures by faculty professors will be held Saturday following a 9 a.m. breakfast with Donald Bobbitt, UT Arlington's provost and vice president for academic affairs and Frank Lamas, vice president for student affairs.


The weekend events will conclude at a 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, president's dinner at the Center's Bluebonnet Ballroom and the 3rd annual Parent and Family Weekend Fall Festival and Concert at 7 p.m. on the University Center Mall.
