ARLINGTON - The 10th "Faculty Biennial," a showcase for recent work created by Department of Art and Art History faculty, is now on exhibit in the Gallery at the University of Texas at Arlington. The gallery is in Room 169 at the Fine Arts Building, 502 S. Cooper St. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon until 5 p.m. Saturday.
The exhibition, which runs through Nov. 14, features the work of more than 40 faculty members in a wide variety of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, glass, video, digital imaging and visual communication. In addition, the department's art historians will have examples of recent publications on display.
"The faculty biennial is an opportunity for the university and the community to view the work of our talented faculty who work in a variety of media," said gallery curator Benito Huerta.
In association with the exhibition, several of the artists will discuss their work in a series of noon gallery talks on selected Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the exhibition. The dates for the talks are Wednesdays, Oct. 21 and Nov. 4, and Thursdays, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12. There will also be a reception from 6 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. The exhibit and all events are free and open to the public.
