ARLINGTON - Members of the public and the University community are invited to comment on The University of Texas at Arlington Police Department's compliance with the highest professional standards during a 6 p.m. session Monday, Dec. 14, at the Wetsel Service Center, Room 200, 1225 W. Mitchell Blvd.
The hearing is part of an on-site assessment that will be conducted Monday by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc., or CALEA. The commission requires agencies to comply with state-of the art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.
The assessment team also will accept comments by telephone at 817-272-8601 between 1 and 5 p.m. Monday or at 817-272-8600 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Appearances at the public information session and telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards. A copy of the standards is available at the UT Arlington Police Department, 700 S.
