Bruce Tanner, Lockheed Martin Corp. executive vice president and chief financial officer, will discuss multiple sources of innovation -- from technical to business processes to human capital management -- during UT Arlington Business Week 2010.
Tanner is the keynote speaker for the Business Week Executive Dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in the E.H. Hereford University Center's Bluebonnet Ballroom. His speech highlights the week's activities. Individual tickets are $45; tables of eight are $500.
Tanner is expected to detail how Lockheed Martin leverages many strains of innovation as a leading global security company. He also is scheduled to show a video of the first vertical landing of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
The University of Texas at Arlington's College of Business and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce are co-hosts of Business Week, which is April 12-16 this year. The spring tradition brings a dozen or more executives to campus to interact with undergraduate and graduate business students.
Tanner was appointed to Lockheed Martin's top financial position in September 2007. He has served in a number of executive positions with the company since 1982. Tanner earned a master's of business administration degree in finance from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1990.
The theme for Business Week 2010 is "Innovations Transforming Business in North Texas and Beyond." Guest speakers will provide students insight into how innovations in the marketplace can change the way business is done across key industries. Events will focus on the business case for nanotechnology.
