Dawn Remmers, Ph.D.
Executive Director of University College
Dr. Remmers earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with an emphasis in Animal Behavior and Neuroscience from Kansas State University in 1996. After completing postdoctoral work in the Neuroscience Lab at Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio, Dawn came to UT Arlington in 1999 as an academic advisor for Interdisciplinary Studies. Since then she has also served as an academic advisor the Honors College and then over time became the Director of University Advising, Student Success, and Testing Services. She was officially appointed as the Executive Director of University College in 2010. When she is not reading her favorite science fiction novels, she is reading potential OneBook candidates.

Leigh A. Young
Administrative Assistant
Leigh has worked at UT Arlington since 2001 completing the administrative tasks for the University Advising Center, Student Success Programs, University Studies, and now for the Administrative Office for University College. Her favorite word is "possibilities." She always wanted her own horse and has finally gotten one 50 years later. She has a cat named Chuck Norris who squeaks instead of meows, a horse named Sondra, a grand-dog named Nolan, two grown-up daughters and a husband. In her spare time she rides her horse and tries to convince her husband that cowboy boots are an important addition to his wardrobe.

Christopher Conway
University College Faculty Fellow
Christopher Conway (Ph.D. University of California San Diego, 1996) is Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and the coordinator of the Faculty Review Committee for UT Arlington's First Year Seminar program. Since 2008, he has served as the Faculty Co-Chair for the OneBook program. Dr. Conway has published extensively on Latin American literary, cultural, and intellectual history. In 2007 he was the recipient of the Alicia Wilkerson Smotherman Teaching Award from the College of Liberal Arts.

Megan Fauntleroy
Academic Advisor
Megan earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Her background includes marketing, newspaper publishing, and education. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, puzzles and playing with her 5 year old daughter. She joined the academic advising team in University Studies in September 2011 and is happy to be back on a college campus, helping students with their academic careers.

Karen Clements
Karen's cardinal rule is the "Golden Rule": Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. She is native to the metroplex, born in Ft. Worth, grew up in Dallas and attended SMU where she met her late husband. Early in career, she was a display artist doing the windows etc. at Neiman-Marcus/Northpark. After raising her three children, she worked with her husband in his various business ventures. She has worked in education for the past 14 years. She has two miniature schnauzer puppies who are the latest in a long string of them that she has had for many years. She loves plants, indoors and out. She also enjoys knitting her own sweaters, reading, making pottery, traveling and doing calligraphy, which she taught through a fun-ed program while living in Virginia.
