About Me: I started at UTA in June of 2011, after having been previously employed at the International Center for Supplemental Instruction (SI) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), where I supervised both the SI and Tutorial programs, and conducted national Supervisor Training in my capacity as an internationally certified SI and Video-Based Supplemental Instruction (VSI) Trainer. Prior to my appointment at UMKC, I was Head of the SI National Office for Southern Africa, at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and was formerly a lecturer in Sociology, at the University of Port Elizabeth (UPE). Born in the United Kingdom, I have varied international experience in higher education. I live with my husband and three children in Flower Mound, Texas, and enjoy reading and traveling, as well as spending time exploring the Metroplex with my family.

About Me:: I am excited to return to UTA as the Assistant Director of University Tutorial and Supplemental Instruction. I graduated from UTA in 2005 with a B.A. in English. I went on to complete my M.A. in Teaching and Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. I spent several years teaching secondary education in Texas public schools and later found my passion for supporting students of higher education learning environments. Before returning to UTA I served as the Assistant Director of the Student Success Tutoring Center and Supplemental Instruction programs at Horry Georgetown Technical College in South Carolina. I live with my husband and our two dogs. My hobbies include traveling, surfing, and reading

About Me: I recently relocated to Fort Worth in the fall of 2014. In El Paso I earned a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso. I began tutoring as a student and, after graduating, continued as a professional writing tutor with El Paso Community College. In addition to tutoring, I worked for the El Paso Times newspaper in their production plant. I have had a variety of jobs—from line-cook to meat cutter to prepress operator— but find working with students and tutors to be the most rewarding. I plan to gain an MA in Education and Teaching at UTA. I live with my fiancé and enjoy reading, watching movies, and hiking.

Currently, I am enrolled online at Colorado State University in their graduate program for Student Affairs in Higher Education. My husband and I have two dogs: an English Springer Spaniel, and a Chihuahua-Yorkie mix. In my free-time I enjoy reading, crafting, and traveling.

I am a proud UT Arlington alumnus (’04 and ’06) and a product of the TRiO Programs. During high school I participated in the TRiO UB and UBMS programs; I chose to attend UT Arlington after attending the UTA UBMS summer program. My favorite thing about UTA is Oozeball; it's a great tradition (mud volleyball)! I would like to share a quote that inspires me: “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” - unknown
As a UTA alumnus, I am very happy to be back at UTA. I love the diversity of the University, and all the potential opportunities to meet people and have new experiences. I think TRiO SSS is an awesome program because we are focused on assisting our students in reaching their educational goals, and raising awareness of numerous resources that can help them along the way.
I am a proud UTA alumnus. I recently graduated with my B.S.W. (‘13). As a former student of UTA and participant in the TRiO Student Support Services program, I am excited to return and be part of the community that assisted me during my journey in achieving my degree.
I was excited to join TRiO SSS because I am able to share my passion for education and helping students. My education includes a BA and MA in music studies, and I am currently working on a Bachelor’s in Psychology at UTA. I also am a part-time personal trainer and part-time voice teacher.
I feel very fortunate to be a part of the caring and professional SSS team. The students are our first priority. We work very closely with the students in our program and provide them with the individual support and assistance they may need as they tackle the challenges often met by college students.
