Success Series: Goal Setting and Motivation

Goals motivate people to develop strategies that will enable them to perform effectively. Goals are like "road maps", providing the direction you need to reach your destination, the motivation to sustain you on your trip, and a way to measure your progress. Students will learn how to set attainable goals which will lead to better performance and increased motivation throughout studies.

Success Series: Note Taking/ Textbook Reading/ Research Tips
Thursday, Sep 26, 1:00 pm — 2:00 pm
We will be learning how to take effective notes; active reading techniques; and how best to prepare for class. Time will also be spent considering what the best sources and approaches are for research, including referencing tips and what to avoid, for example plagiarism and collusion.

Success Series: Navigating Academic Terrain (Persevering)

Students will learn how to navigate through the sometimes difficult terrain of a college campus. Topics include how to talk to professors, how to network with staff and study with fellow students, and to learn about the campus culture. Strategies will be shared on proactive ways in approaching stressful situations.
