Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

The General Test measures analytical writing, verbal and quantitative skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and are not related to any specific field of study. The General Test contains one 30-minute verbal session, one 45-minute quantitative section and two analytical writing tasks: a 45-minute "Present Your Perspective on an Issue" task and a 30-minute "Analyze an Argument" task. In addition, an unidentified pretest section and/or an identified research section may be included. Answers to questions in the pretest and research sections do not count toward your score.

The GRE General Test is administered as a computer-adaptive test and is NOT administered at UT Arlington. For more information or to register, visit the GRE website at www.gre.org.
