SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST (SAT)

SAT I: REASONING TEST

The SAT Reasoning Test includes 4 multiple-choice sections and, if you take the essay version, a one 50 minute essay. The SAT measures writing, critical reading and mathematic abilities that develop over time. Many colleges require SAT scores for admission. The fee for this test is $45 and $57 with the Essay.

SAT II: SUBJECT TESTS

The SAT subject tests are one-hour, primarily multiple choice tests that measure your knowledge of particular subjects and your ability to apply that knowledge. Please check out the SAT II Registration bulletin to know more about the SAT subject tests and the test dates.  The fee per subject is $26.

REGISTER FOR THE SAT

Register by Phone: If you are a high school student who has registered for an SAT Program test before, you can reregister by telephone. Please see a registration bulletin or the web site for more information.

Register by Mail: A SAT I or SAT II Registration bulletin may be ordered for free at sat.collegeboard.org. Send the completed application form in the envelope provided in the Registration bulletin. Mail registration must be postmarked by the deadline date.


AMERICAN COLLEGE TEST (ACT)

The ACT Assessment measures skills in English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. Each of these tests contains multiple-choice questions that offer either four or five answer choices. Beginning in 2005, students testing in the U.S. may register for one of two Test Options: the ACT Assessment or the ACT Assessment Plus Writing, which includes a 30-minute Writing Test for an additional fee.

The basic test fee is $38.00 for the ACT Assessment and $54.50 for the ACT Assessment Plus Writing. There are additional fees for late registration, standby testing, changing test centers or test dates, and for additional services and products.  Photo Upload is required with Registration and Photo ID is required to Check in on Test day.

RESIDUAL AMERICAN COLLEGE TEST (ACT)

This institutional version of the ACT is an emergency test offered at UTA for students wishing to be admitted to UTA and have no prior SAT or ACT test score. The test is scored at UTA and is only valid for UT Arlington admission. No scores will be reported to any other schools. The fee for the ACT Residual is $65.  Please call Testing Services at 817-272-2362 or visit our office located at University Hall, Suite 004 in the basement, for more information. There are no retakes.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Due to the scope of this exam, we will not be able to provide any accommodations. If accommodations are needed, you will need to contact ACT to take the exam during a national test date.

REGISTRATION FOR UT ARLINGTON STUDENTS

  • You must know your UT Arlington 10-digit ID number to register.
  • You will need to pick a user name and password (minimum of six characters). Pick something you can easily remember as you will need this to register for tests. The account registration information will e-mail your user name and password to you. You will be able to select your type of test and date.

  • Just follow the steps.
  • You will receive an e-mail confirmation.
  • To reschedule an exam you must return to the Testing Services web site. You may not reschedule an exam less than 24 hours before the start of the test session.
