SAT Math Prep

Each year University Crossroads helps hundreds of North Texas students prepare to take the SAT with free math tutoring classes to sharpen skills. The sessions cover math basics and test-taking skills. It really helps to come to as many sessions as possible. Students who attended five sessions saw their Math SAT scores jump an average of 88 points.

The classes are open to all high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors including those in public, private, and charter schools as well as those home-schooled.

Here are a few tips before you come:

  • Bring a calculator if you have one. We have only a limited supply to loan out.
  • Attend at least three to four sessions in order to improve your scores.
  • Bring a snack and drink for the mid-morning break. Vending machines are also available.

In our workshops, we cover some math concepts that students may not have gone over in the classroom. We cover the main Algebra I and II concepts as well as geometry and proportions.

In our workshops, we cover some math concepts that students may not have gone over in the classroom. We cover the Algebra I and II concepts, geometry, proportions, and a few other middle school concepts covered by the SAT. Sometimes students may not have gotten a concept in class, but we teach it in a different way that helps them understand the solution to the problem.
