AbeXXa Biologics, a UTA faculty startup, was named one of the 40 “Best University Startups 2017” by the National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer, a Washington-based association of startup officers from the top research universities in the United States.

Sedrick Huckaby, UTA assistant professor of art, has been named a Texas State Artist for 2018. The Texas Legislature appointed Huckaby as the state's official two-dimensional artist.

UTA students named to several sports national teams

Six University of Texas at Arlington students have been selected for four national sports teams: women’s wheelchair basketball, men’s under-23 wheelchair basketball, rugby and the U.S. Military Invictus Games.

UTA civil engineer’s book illustrates the power of recycled plastic in shoring up roads

Soil reinforcement

A UTA civil engineer has written a book about his research concerning the use of recycled plastic pins to bolster soil strength surrounding Texas highways. His research has yielded positive results in some parts of North Texas.

Art therapy

Art therapy

A seed grant from the College of Liberal Arts funded Artopia, a series of art therapy workshops for veterans dealing with service-related trauma. A cross-disciplinary research team is studying the results of the program.

BSB: Darin Thomas Named Sun Belt Coach of the Year

Darin Thomas has been named the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year and five UTA stars have been honored with all-conference accolades.

BSB: Mavs Earn No. 2 Seed in Sun Belt Championship

UTA earned the No. 2 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Championship and will play on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. CT.

Hervey, VanDijk honored by the Sun Belt Conference

Hervey was selected SBC Male Student-Athlete of the Year, while VanDijk was named to the SBC Leadership Team.
