A UTA assistant professor of educational leadership and policy studies explores the academic and interpersonal experiences of Latinos at HBCUs. The research was published recently in The Journal of Higher Education.

UTA engineer wins Air Force grant to help unmanned vehicle systems work together

Cooperative control

A UTA aerospace engineer has received a Air Force Research Laboratory grant to create an algorithm that will allow cooperative control of multiple spacecraft and address uncertainties and time delays in the information received. The research deals with spacecraft, but the algorithm developed ultimately could be used on any unmanned platform.

Texas cancer research grant helps UTA recruit promising young biology researcher, expand health science focus

Health science focus

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas has awarded UTA an $823,067 grant to recruit star cell biology researcher Mark Pellegrino from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Pellegrino will join the UTA as an assistant biology professor in August.

UTA School of Social Work researcher earns distinguished Fulbright Scholar Award

Women's health research

Eusebius Small, a UTA assistant professor in the School of Social Work, will use a Fulbright award to study factors that contribute to HIV incidence in young women in Sierra Leone.
