UT Arlington's students participate in research and service-learning projects while enjoying a campus teeming with energy and excitement. Both inside and outside the classroom and laboratory, they experience abundant opportunities to gain the knowledge and leadership skills they need to be successful.

  • A recent 19 percent increase in enrollment enables more gifted and well-rounded students to make a greater impact on society.

  • About 7,000 of UT Arlington's more than 33,000 students live on or within a mile of campus, and more than 8,500 participate in campus organizations.

  • U.S. News & World Report ranks UT Arlington's student population among the nation's top 10 percent for racial diversity.

  • More than 400 students live in Kalpana Chawla Hall, which houses a residential living/learning program.

  • With more than 220 campus organizations to choose from, students find it easy to become active participants in the Maverick community.

  • Internationally known speakers, entertainers, and musical acts highlight a robust calendar of activities. Among those recently appearing on campus are Magic Johnson, Sally Ride, Spike Lee, Thomas Friedman, Forest Whitaker, Maroon 5, and Rihanna.

  • Students hail from all corners of the United States and 116 countries.

  • UT Arlington fields NCAA Division I men's teams in basketball, baseball, indoor and outdoor track and field, cross country, tennis, and golf. Women's teams compete in basketball, softball, volleyball, indoor and outdoor track and field, cross country, and tennis.

  • The Movin' Mavs wheelchair basketball team has won seven national championships.

  • The Department of Campus Recreation offers informal recreation, intramural sports, a fitness/wellness program, sport clubs, aquatics, and spirit groups.

  • Popular Maverick traditions include Welcome Week, Parent and Family Weekend, Maverick Stampede, International Week, Homecoming, the Oozeball mud volleyball tournament, Bed Races, and SpringFest.

  • Nearly 1,400 military veterans and their eligible dependents are enrolled at UT Arlington thanks to enhanced University programs and the Post 9-11 GI Bill.
