Traditions & History
Forward Movement
We’re proud of our history. But our
history has never limited us. It propels us and provides the momentum to create
new history—not just for the university, but for the world. It lives on with our
alumni and it’s constantly being made in our facilities.
As you read our history and learn about our traditions think about what still remains to be done, seen, and explored. Think about
how far we’ve come. We’re still thinking about how far we want to go.
TRADITIONS
Greek Life
UT Arlington went Greek in 1967, when Kappa Sigma became the first nationally chartered fraternity on campus. Since then, the Greek community has grown to include more than 820 students and 29 fraternities and sororities.
