University will resume normal operations on Saturday, October 4

Power has been restored to most UT Arlington facilities. University residence halls and all University-owned apartments are online. The Creek Bend Apartments remains closed. UT Arlington will resume normal operations on Saturday, October 4. All classes and events scheduled Saturday will take place as planned.

The University appreciates the support of our students, faculty, staff and the UT Arlington Police Department throughout this weather event. Further updates will be issued only as needed.

3:35 pm Friday

Power has been restored to the Maverick Activities Center, and the MAC will open at 5 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 3. FREE pizza for UT Arlington students at the MAC from 6 p.m. until it is gone.

12:13 PM Friday

Power has been restored to most UT Arlington residence halls, with the exception of Lipscomb Hall and Vandergriff Hall. Crews are still working to restore full power across campus, and University offices continue to be closed. The E.H. Hereford University Center and Dining Services are open.

12:02 PM Friday

In keeping with campus closures, the Planetarium at the University of Texas at Arlington has cancelled all shows today. For information on future shows, visit http://www.uta.edu/planetarium.

11:55 a.m Friday

Tonight’s Arlington High School vs. North Crowley High football game has been moved from UT Arlington Maverick Stadium to North Crowley High School Football Stadium due to storm damage to the press box in Maverick Stadium and power outages caused by mechanical issues.

10:20 a.m. Friday

UT Arlington is continuing to assess and secure campus facilities following Thursday’s severe weather incident. The University Center (including dining services) remains open; all other University offices and buildings remain closed. Only essential staff should report to campus. Faculty and staff offices are closed.

10:45 p.m. Thursday

All UT Arlington classes canceled Friday due to power outage, all offices closed. UC and Dining Services will be open. MavAlert is powered by Cooper Notification RSAN

10:15 p.m. Thursday

The University of Texas at Arlington will be closed Friday, October 3, due to a partial power outage related to Thursday's severe storms. All classes are canceled, and all offices will be closed.

The UT Arlington Fort Worth Center and the UT Arlington Research Institute also will be closed. All daytime activities are canceled.

The E.H. Hereford University Center and Dining Services will be open to serve campus residents and essential staff. Campus residents are safe, and staff members are working to ensure their well-being.

Oncor is working to restore full power to the main campus.

Events and activities scheduled for Friday evening will likely proceed on schedule. The University is expected to be open for all classes and campus operations on Saturday, October 4.

MavAlert: The severe weather has passed. However, due to extensive power outages, classes and other University activities are cancelled/closed this evening and normal campus operations will resume Friday morning.
