Patriotism and UT Arlington pride were on display at the 50th annual Arlington 4th of July Parade. UTA’s entries included two floats, as well as the University’s spirit groups and Formula SAE race cars.
About 800 UTA students, staff, and faculty volunteered at over 40 locations as part of The Big Event. The annual day of service and outreach benefits numerous community-based and nonprofit organizations and agencies.

UT System Chancellor William McRaven visited UT Arlington for a meeting of the Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee. The recently retired four-star Navy admiral became chancellor in January 2015.

UTA’s Formula SAE car raced to victory at this summer’s Texas Autocross Weekend. Student engineers incorporated four on-board computers, enabling the car to respond more quickly and easily.
Recent graduate Bryce Bennett's photographic series Beneath examines overpasses in a new light and garnered a major award from the UT System Board of Regents.
Each November the Study Abroad Office sponsors a photography contest for students who have studied abroad. Their images are displayed in the University Center Art Gallery as part of International Education Week.
